Christmas is coming early for pizza delivery fans in North Pole. Then again, Christmas comes every day in North Pole, but this season sees the arrival of the first Domino’s Pizza in the town.

Local franchise owner Bryan Dobb is hosting a series of events this month to celebrate the grand opening of the location at 320 N. Santa Claus Lane.

Magic of Pizza

“I’m thrilled to open our doors to this amazing area and offer delicious pizza at a renowned value,” says Dobb. “We noticed there’s a demand for more pizza in the area, so we’re excited to offer a delicious assortment of toppings, sauces, and crusts to our customers, as we have something for everyone to enjoy.”

The new store features an open concept “pizza theater” design, where customers can see the pie-making process, from toppings to oven. The location also has a convenient pickup window for carryout orders.

The store is hiring ten customer service representatives, twenty delivery drivers, assistant managers, and pizza makers. “Our stores are fun, fast-paced, and full of opportunities,” says Dobb, who owns franchise locations throughout Alaska and Canada. “Whether you’re an elf looking for extra holiday cash or a reindeer ready to dash, we’ve got a spot for you!”

The nearest Domino’s Pizza locations had been the two in Fairbanks; the North Pole restaurant is the thirteenth in Alaska. North Pole already has Pizza Hut and Great Alaska Pizza Company outlets.

Throughout the month until the grand opening on December 20, Dobb is hosting a community food drive, collecting nonperishable food for the Fairbanks Community Food Bank to support families across the Tanana Valley. “We want to be an active part of the North Pole community,” says Dobb. “While we’re here to make, bake, and serve delicious pizza, we also want to be a restaurant that invests back into our neighborhoods.”

On the Saturday before Christmas, the restaurant will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony with festive face painting, gifts for children, and a bargain price for a medium one-topping pizza.

Dobb says, “We’re excited to bring even more cheer to the area, through the magic of pizza.”

Founded in 1960, Domino’s Pizza is the largest pizza company in the world, with global retail sales of more than $19.7 billion in the trailing four quarters ended September 7, 2025. The chain has more than 21,700 stores in more than ninety markets, and independent franchise owners accounted for 99 percent of Domino’s stores as of the end of the third quarter of 2025.

Alaska Native regional, village, and urban corporations operate in every industry all around the state, often in regions that don’t attract attention from other corporations. Our cover story for December 2025 is an excellent example, as it covers the investment Aleut is making in its region, Unangam Tanangin, or the Aleutian Islands, which stretch 1,000 miles into the Bering Sea and Pacific Ocean. The Alaska Native special section also visits Kodiak and the handful of corporations benefiting that region, and looks back over fifty years of ANCSA corporation history and how the corporations have built, maintained, and strengthened communications and relationships with their shareholders.
