Cardiologist Dr. Josiah Brown is the newest member of the Alaska Heart & Vascular Institute (AHVI) team. Brown is in a position to expand AHVI’s structural heart program, providing new and innovative treatments for patients with previously untreatable conditions.

Brown is a highly skilled interventional and structural cardiologist with extensive expertise in advanced cardiovascular procedures, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement, mitral valve repair, and left atrial appendage occlusion. He brings valuable experience in cutting-edge technologies and a strong passion for patient-centered care to AHVI.

Brown completed his medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University and pursued his internal medicine residency at the University of Washington. He then specialized further through general and interventional cardiology fellowships at the Cedars-Sinai Smidt Heart Institute in Los Angeles, where he worked alongside renowned leaders in structural cardiology. His expertise extends to the latest innovations in minimally invasive cardiovascular therapies, including pioneering research on a novel cardiac injury biomarker sensor.

Outside of his professional life, Brown enjoys exploring Alaska’s great outdoors with his wife and young daughter. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he looks forward to engaging in winter sports and sharing his love for the natural beauty of the state with his family.
