UA Foundation Adds Analytics, Strategy Leaders

The University of Alaska Foundation brought in some new leaders to help guide the nonprofit that stewards the UA System’s philanthropic support.
Gwendolyn Gruenig

Gwendolyn Gruenig joins as Chief Data and Analytics Officer, leading the foundation’s enterprise data, analytics, and advancement information services functions. As a key member of the UA Foundation’s senior leadership team, Gruenig shapes how data and analytics support fundraising success, donor engagement, and institutional impact across the UA system.
A lifelong Alaskan, Gruenig most recently served as director of data analysis and institutional research for the UA System, where she led statewide data strategy, governance, analytics, policy analysis, and reporting in support of the board of regents, system leadership, and students.

Gruenig holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UAF in psychology and statistics. She is a former adjunct faculty member in the UAF statistics department, and she previously owned a private data science consulting practice serving researchers, businesses, and nonprofits.
Stephanie Monahan

The foundation’s new Director of Strategic Initiatives is Stephanie Monahan, responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams and initiatives within the UA Foundation and across the UA system, helping turn strategic priorities into coordinated action.
Before joining the UA Foundation, Monahan was the founder and CEO of MyFlowology, where she partnered with executives, boards, and leadership teams to navigate complex initiatives and translate organizational priorities into measurable outcomes. Her experience has focused on facilitation, leadership alignment, employee engagement and satisfaction, strategic planning, and organizational change. Monahan previously provided leadership, planning and change management support to healthcare and early childhood systems.
