Multidiscipline consulting engineering firm Coffman Engineers named Jeff Brace, a civil engineer in Anchorage, as one of four new Principal Shareholders. Colleagues in San Diego, Dallas, and Atlanta also received the promotion.

“We are very pleased to welcome Jeff into the owner-principal group,” says Ben Momblow, general manager of Coffman Engineers in Anchorage. “He has been a dedicated leader, managing large multifaceted projects and delivering great outcomes for our clients. He also has been a long-time steward of our culture through his mentorship and training of staff. Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge and we look forward to his continued contributions as a principal.”

Brace has more than twenty years of experience leading commercial and federal projects. His extensive portfolio includes managing design-build and design-bid-build projects for the military across Alaska, the West Coast, Hawai’i, and Guam, as well as overseeing commercial site design and water and sewer utility installations. His depth of experience with local and national institutions and coordinating with stakeholders and permitting agencies makes him an asset in complex infrastructure projects.

Building trusted relationships is a cornerstone of Jeff’s engineering and business acumen. He’s also a recipient of the Anchorage office’s Neil Pearson Service Award, a recognition selected by his peers for his mentorship, hard work ethic, and good nature.

Alaska Native regional, village, and urban corporations operate in every industry all around the state, often in regions that don’t attract attention from other corporations. Our cover story for December 2025 is an excellent example, as it covers the investment Aleut is making in its region, Unangam Tanangin, or the Aleutian Islands, which stretch 1,000 miles into the Bering Sea and Pacific Ocean. The Alaska Native special section also visits Kodiak and the handful of corporations benefiting that region, and looks back over fifty years of ANCSA corporation history and how the corporations have built, maintained, and strengthened communications and relationships with their shareholders.
