DCI Engineers Announces Promotion

Right Moves: John Oldfield

John Oldfield has been promoted to Senior Project Manager in the Anchorage office. Since joining the firm, Oldfield has taken on project management responsibilities for residential, warehouse, municipal, and remodel projects throughout Alaska. His current projects include the Homer Police Station, Bartlett Regional Hospital Behavioral Health Facility, and Medline Warehouse. Familiar with all types of building materials, Oldfield has a particular interest in steel framing systems. His previous engineering experience with long span steel trusses involved airplane hangars, industrial, and military facilities. Oldfield is a member of the in-house steel and aluminum committee.

Few large foundations support “the general good” or social service projects in Alaska, so the Last Frontier has a pretty thin philanthropic layer, according to United Way of Anchorage Vice President Cassandra Stalzer. However, the oil and gas industry has a history of stepping in and filling the gaps in Alaska communities by providing money and volunteers for myriad charitable efforts in the state.
