Northern Air Cargo (NAC) is launching a new direct cargo route between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport (ANC).
Alaska’s largest all-cargo airline touts the benefits of same-day rural delivery. Shipments originating in Seattle can connect directly into NAC’s statewide network. Communities like Nome and Kotzebue can receive freight in as little as 12 hours while others such as Utqiaġvik and Bethel can be serviced in around 18 hours.
Fast and Fresh
“This new route provides our customers with a vital resource,” says NAC President Dave Karp. “We’re offering a tool for businesses and communities to partner with an experienced Alaskan cargo carrier that puts customer service first. Many NAC employees grew up in rural Alaska and we understand the need. Our focus is on relationships and communication, finding solutions, and delivering the level of care and dependability our customers deserve.”
The new service, starting the week of October 5, uses NAC’s newest Boeing 737-800 Next Generation freighter, supported by Boeing 737-300 and 737-400s. Departures are scheduled three times weekly, on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings from SEA, arriving early the next morning in ANC.
The route also offers timely Southbound access to Pacific Northwest markets for Alaska businesses with fresh products such as seafood. Through NAC’s proprietary cold chain preservation system, perishables and medicine are safeguarded using sophisticated tracking and eco-friendly insulation. This ensures shipments stay at the right temperature throughout their journey.
The company’s One Air Waybill covers Seattle through to rural Alaska. Accepted freight on the SEA-to-ANC route includes Priority Service, which has a next-flight guarantee, ideal for perishables, medicine, and urgent freight.
NAC is an operating company of Northern Aviation Services, Inc., a division of Seattle-based logistics conglomerate Saltchuk.
