A new hand is at the wheel of the trade group for the statewide trucking industry. The Alaska Trucking Association (ATA) named Jamie Benson as its new Executive Director.

Benson has been associated with the ATA for more than a decade and served as president from 2019 to 2020. Benson was actively involved with the Safety Management Council, Truck Driving Championship committee, and the Annual Board meeting committee.

Benson’s thirty years of experience at FedEx, managing in Alaska and Hawai’i, have given her a keen understanding of challenges facing the trucking industry outside of the continental US. Her background of leadership in logistics, strategic planning, and business management make her an asset to the ATA and the trucking industry. The association expects that Benson’s commitment to fostering positive relationships within the industry will lead to increased opportunities and positive outcomes for all members.

Benson lives in Anchorage with her husband Russell and has two children, Quinn and Devlin.

Also in this issue: learn more about the Chin’an Gaming Hall, USACE projects, the new Wildbirch Hotel, and the transportation and logistics of Girl Scout cookies. Enjoy!
