Rural Alaska Community Action Program (RurAL CAP), a statewide nonprofit to empower low-income Alaskans, named Selena Bailey its Chief Financial Officer.

Bailey joins RurAL CAP, one of the largest and most diversified nonprofit organizations in Alaska, with more than sixteen years of experience in accounting. She previously worked in public accounting at for-profit, nonprofit, and publicly traded companies. Most recently, she was CFO at Catholic Social Services in Anchorage.

Bailey studied accounting at UAA and obtained her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota. She later worked for KPMG, Alaska Waste, and Bristol Bay Industrial. Her experience, according to RurAL CAP, displays strong leadership, motivation, and inspiration.

“I have a love for people,” Bailey says, “and am thrilled to be joining the RurAL CAP team and being part of fulfilling our mission.”

When she isn’t working, Bailey enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, quilting, and sewing.

“We’re grateful to Selena for lending her expertise and passion to our agency’s mission of empowering low-income Alaskans,” says RurAL CAP CEO Tiel Smith.

And in Industry Support, we explore the range of varied services that industry in Alaska requires, from mancamps to spill response to off-grid energy solutions.
