Alaska operations for Maryland-based interdisciplinary environmental services firm EA Engineering, Science, and Technology have a new Profit Center Manager. Travis Hines, a twelve-year veteran of the company, has been promoted to the role, responsible for operational performance, personnel and logistics management, technical product quality, client satisfaction, and business development.
Hines earned a bachelor’s degree in Earth science at UAF and a master’s degree in environmental management at American Public University, along with a graduate certificate in environmental sustainability. In addition, he was recently accepted into the UAF MBA program with a STEM concentration.
From his twenty-four-year career in Alaska, Hines brings an extensive background in environmental compliance project and program management; natural and cultural resources; and site characterization and remediation services supporting military and resource extraction clients. His direct responsibilities have included managing remote site work; hazardous waste and hazardous materials compliance programs; and supporting all facets of operations management. Hines is a member of the Project Management Institute.
“Travis’ promotion to this leadership role builds upon his consistent dedication to meeting the Alaska operational goals, the project and program needs of our client base, and the mentoring and forward development of our technical staff,” says EA Vice President and Pacific Business Unit Director Jennifer Martin Bouchard. “As a lifelong Alaskan, he possesses a strong understanding of the diversity of markets, geography, logistical challenges, and economic drivers in Alaska.”
EA first established operations in Alaska in 1992 and maintains locations in Anchorage and Fairbanks, among a network of twenty-seven offices nationwide.
