Kathleen Benoit has been named President of Architects Alaska, the first woman to hold the role since the firm was founded in 1950. Benoit has been with Architects Alaska for thirteen years, bringing steady leadership, deep institutional knowledge, and a clear vision for the firm’s future. Benoit holds a bachelor’s degree in design from the University of Florida, College of Architecture. Her experience in architecture and commercial interior design spans corporate, hospitality, healthcare, and government projects, with a strong focus on community-centered and operationally durable design. As President, she is committed to advancing a collaborative, forward-looking culture that supports both design excellence and long-term community impact.

Diane Heaney-Mead

Diane Heaney-Mead has been named to Architects Alaska’s Board of Directors and serves as Vice President, bringing more than twenty years of experience in architectural design focused on medical and rural environments across Alaska. A lifelong Alaskan, Heaney-Mead joined the firm in 2006 while completing a master’s degree in architecture at Montana State University. Her work includes facility master planning, space planning, assessments, and the delivery of highly coordinated, technically complex projects. Heaney-Mead collaborates closely with Anchorage-area building departments to thoughtfully address Alaska’s unique conditions, contributing strong regional insight and steady leadership to the firm.

Chrissy Gahm

Chrissy Gahm joined Architects Alaska as Controller, a key addition to the firm’s finance and operations leadership team. She brings more than twenty years of experience helping organizations strengthen financial clarity, streamline internal processes, and support long-term strategic growth. Gahm holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the College of Charleston and a Master of Accountancy from the University of North Florida. Her background includes financial management, internal controls, HR administration, and system modernization. She is recognized for building efficient, transparent systems that improve daily operations and position organizations for sustainable success.
