National Safety Council Recognizes NMS with Industry Leader Awards

Aug 23, 2019 | Alaska Native, Featured, News, Professional Services

ANCHORAGE—The National Safety Council (NSC) recently recognized NMS with four prestigious 2019 Industry Leader Awards for excellent safety performance within its industry. The food service teams at Teck’s Red Dog Mine in the NANA region, BP’s Main Construction Camp and Tarmac Camp in Prudhoe Bay, and the housekeeping teams at Hilcorp’s Milne Point unit in Prudhoe Bay are all award recipients.

For more than 100 years, the NSC—a nonprofit organization and the leading safety advocate in the US—has worked with businesses to eliminate preventable deaths at work, in homes and communities, through leadership, research, education and advocacy. NMS consistently achieves high safety marks from the NSC, earning twenty awards for safety performance in the last decade.

“These awards recognize what NMS employees put into practice every day—that safety guides our behavior,” said NMS President Eric Billingsley. “We are honored to receive them once again.”

NMS is one of sixty-three companies recognized worldwide for its efforts and the only Alaska company to win Industry Leader Awards this year. The award benchmarks outstanding safety achievements among member companies and recognizes only the top five percent of member companies in the world.

NMS emphasizes personal safety in every work location, committing to provide safe and healthy environments for employees, clients, and customers.
