NANA is not your average company. We’re owned by more than 15,000 Iñupiaq shareholders who live or have roots in northwest Alaska.
NANA’s clients and partners are world-class professionals in a variety of industries, both federal and commercial.
The skills we built in Alaska and the Lower 48 have taken us worldwide through Akima, NANA’s federal group.
Akima’s areas of expertise include information technology, facilities maintenance and repair, logistics and supply chain, protective services, systems engineering, mission support, construction, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment procurement.
NANA’s commercial group of businesses provide essential support services for resource development, as well as other industries, including healthcare and education, throughout Alaska and the continental U.S.
Our relationship with Teck Alaska at Red Dog Mine leads as a model and case study of a partnership between a mining company and Indigenous people founded on the principles of consensus, cooperation, and mutual respect.
NANA’s natural resource experience is unmatched.
Through our partnership with Teck Alaska, we have been developing the rich mineral resources of our region, including zinc and lead, for decades. Our approach emphasizes local input and traditional knowledge, ensuring that projects are completed on time and with community support.
As a top priority, we embrace a culture of maximum safety and protecting people, property, subsistence practices, and the environment. This is reflected in the improvement of nearby water sources at Red Dog Mine that used to be naturally toxic but now support aquatic life.
Since 1989, Red Dog has operated as a benchmark for the rest of the world, bringing significant benefits to our home region. Additional resources on both NANA and adjoining lands provide potential to extend the life of the operation, which is currently set for closure in 2031.
NANA’s commercial group of businesses has the range and expertise to make your project a success.
Our teams have leveraged our long-term relationships and strong corporate values to deliver proven results for nearly fifty years. From camp services to security, from fabrication and construction to design and engineering, NANA companies can provide multi-pillared support for a variety of commercial business operations.
Our companies are all dedicated to a culture of safety and have the experience necessary to craft innovative, customized solutions for your needs.
