Thompson & Co. Strengthens with Four New Hires and a Senior Management Promotion
Thompson & Co. Public Relations (T&C) expanded its team and technical services with the addition of four strategic new hires and a senior management promotion.
Ashleigh Carson, part of the T&C team since 2017, was recently promoted to Senior Account Manager. Carson is credited with a consistent ability to lead and innovate, and her promotion reflects not only her growth but also her continued impact at the agency.
“Ashleigh exemplifies our core values and was recognized earlier this year with the inaugural Ampersand Award for embracing transparency, honesty, and trust,” says T&C President and CEO Jennifer Thompson. “Her clients and teammates benefit from her unwavering commitment to client success, exceptional dedication, and strategic insights. Whether she’s working a large event or an everyday task, she works with both grace and force.”
As part of her service to the community, Carson was recently appointed to the board of the Girl Scouts of Alaska.
New to T&C is Jared Mazurek as a Multimedia Manager. Mazurek is a seasoned professional with experience in news, photojournalism, and film, covering stories around Alaska for seventeen years. His experience contributes to the agency’s ability to create authentic and compelling video content for its clients.
Sophie Gross was hired as a Junior Digital Strategist, with a focus on content creation and influencer relations. Gross holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Washington State University and previously worked in Los Angeles, providing content creation assistance to a popular TikToker. Her experience provides a creative perspective to the digital team.
Emily Garlock, a new Account Coordinator, brings a unique perspective with her bachelor’s degree in history and cognitive science from Minerva University in San Francisco. Her experience in copywriting and event coordination, along with her global view and international experience shaped from her degree, complement the varied work of this role.
Latonya Johnson comes aboard as an Account Coordinator. With a bachelor’s degree in media and entertainment from Kennesaw State University and an acute awareness of meaningful analytics and metrics, her position entails research of trends to develop pitches for clients. Johnson is based in Atlanta, adding to a growing team of remote contributors based in the South Atlantic region.
While headquartered in Anchorage, T&C has team members in Georgia, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Delaware. The agency serves clients in a wide range of industries, from travel and tourism to technology, healthcare, education, and more, with services ranging from earned media, special events, and crisis communications to digital marketing, content creation, and influencer collaboration.
“It’s energizing that the agency is growing in such a meaningful and deliberate way,” says Thompson. “I’m mostly excited to welcome this new generation to the workforce, as each person brings a unique background experience and offers a fresh perspective and application to today’s range of communication tools to T&C.”
Architecture & Engineering Special Section + Small Business
In the February 2024 issue of Alaska Business, we engineered a special section that inspects the many ways architecture and engineering enrich our lives, from creating beautiful and functional spaces to crafting functional and safe transportation corridors. In addition to the built world in which we live, this issue celebrates small businesses and the many functions they provide, whether they're developing tools in the healthcare industry or opening new dining locations.
