Energy Veteran Returns to Alaska as HEX CFO

Michael R. Koy is returning to Alaska as CFO the HEX family of companies. He reports directly to President and CEO John Hendrix while overseeing the finances of HEX Cook Inlet, Furie Operating Alaska, Cornucopia, and Corsair.

Koy has more than twenty-five years of executive leadership experience in strategy, finance, and corporate development within the global energy sector. Most recently, he served as CFO for DJR Energy and Vesta Energy, where he focused on strengthening financial operations and leading strategic growth initiatives.

Koy previously held senior leadership roles at BP, TNK-BP (a joint venture of BP and Russian investors), Talisman Energy, Maersk Oil & Gas, and several private equity-backed companies in the United States and Canada. During his tenure with BP, he held several commercial and financial roles in Anchorage, contributing to major natural gas pipeline and facility projects.

Koy holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and earned a master’s degree from the Colorado School of Mines in mineral economics with a corporate finance emphasis.
