American Red Cross of Alaska Welcomes New CEO

The American Red Cross of Alaska brings Bryce Sitter to the state as its new Regional CEO. Sitter takes over for Tanguy Libbrecht. He retired from the Alaska region earlier in 2026 after thirteen years of service.
Sitter comes to the Alaska Region after serving as the Regional Chief Development Officer in the Idaho, Montana, and East Oregon Region, where he was recognized twice as a Divisional Fundraiser of the Year. Sitter brings a proven track record of strengthening donor engagement, expanding partnerships, and driving sustainable growth. In his new role, he plans to leverage these strengths to enhance the Alaska Region’s capacity, support volunteers and staff, and ensure the organization remains prepared to respond to increasingly complex disasters while continuing to meet everyday humanitarian needs.
Sitter holds a master’s degree in Humanitarian Leadership and spent a decade in East Africa, designing and implementing projects related to food security, health, and community lending, collaborating with the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Kenya Red Cross, and the Tanzania Red Cross. He joined the American Red Cross in 2006.

The Alaska Region of the American Red Cross serves more than 740,000 residents across one-fifth of the nation’s geography, delivering critical services ranging from disaster relief and preparedness to health and safety training, and support to military members and their families.
