Developers of the Donlin gold prospect in Southwest hired an industry veteran as the next General Manager. Todd Dahlman comes to Donlin Gold after previously serving as vice president and deputy general manager at Kinross Gold’s Fort Knox Mine.

Dahlman succeeds Enric Fernandez, Donlin Gold’s permitting and environmental manager, who served as interim General Manager, maintaining operational stability and progress on key activities, including the 2025 field program with approximately 15,000 meters of planned drilling.

“We are sure that Todd will continue to drive the project up the value chain, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and excellence,” says Christine Keener, chief operating officer for North America operations at Barrick Gold Corporation, co-developer of Donlin with Novagold Resources.

A native of Butte, Montana, Dahlman began his mining career in 1986 in his hometown. Dahlman holds a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering from Montana Technological University and an executive MBA from the University of Utah. In 2024, he completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Throughout his career, he has contributed to mining operations across the United States, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Mauritania, where he was deputy general manager of Kinross’ Tasiast mine. His expertise spans both brownfield and greenfield startups, as well as leadership roles in gold, copper, and oil sands.

Donlin Gold Chairman Greg Lang says, “Todd brings exceptional expertise and a dynamic approach that we believe will complement the project’s stage of development and advancement. His leadership marks an exciting new chapter, and we look forward to continued collaboration and success on the Donlin Gold project.”
