The Sales Department of Alaska Business Publishing Company has gained a new team member. Josh Wilks applies his experience as Market Director for NAPA Auto Parts to the world of print and multimedia advertising as Account Manager.

In his previous position, Wilks was responsible for maintaining good relationships between NAPA Auto Parts and repair shops statewide. The company awarded him Sales Manager of the Year for 2018. Wilks is also certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence.

His brother got him a job at NAPA, and that launched his career, with the perk of having access to parts for repairing his three cars and a motorcycle. Wilks was born in Fairbanks, and his family moved around to Montana, Texas, and Washington before he returned to his hometown. By 2018, when he was promoted to statewide sales manager, Wilks moved to Anchorage.

While traveling around the state extensively, he noticed Alaska Business in almost every hotel. He was attracted to the magazine by the potential to form business relationships and help clients with their business. He’s been on the other side of an advertising transaction, so he brings that experience to his new position. “Honesty is all we have,” says Wilks.

Outside of work, Wilks enjoys riding his motorcycle, golfing, and working out at The Alaska Club with his son. He’s also an aspiring knifemaker.
