Alaska Business Earns TABPI Honors for Cover Illustration, Photography
Having already earned recognition from the Alaska Press Club, the April 2025 cover by Patricia Morales earns wider recognition from Trade Association Business Publications International, plus an honorable mention for the September cover photograph by Kerry Tasker.

The design of this magazine earned recognition from Trade Association Business Publications International (TABPI) at the 2026 Tabbie Awards. The digital design of the April 2025 cover was selected as a winner, and the photographic cover for the September 2025 issue was an honorable mention.
Retro Riff
The April cover for the Corporate 100 issue resembles a Trapper Keeper binder. Alaska Business web designer Patricia Morales drew inspiration from the ‘80s in honor of the magazine’s 40th anniversary. According to the judges, “It’s not always easy to pull off a retro riff, especially in the b2b world and given a list-focused feature, but excellent job. The dimensional element of the clasp/flap on the right side gives the layout depth; the vivid colors and treatments of the text.”
The design, which also earned recognition from the Alaska Press Club awards in April, was honored with a Silver prize from TABPI.

The Gold prize in the Front Cover, Digital Imagery category went to the trade publication Fleet Maintenance for its March 2025 cover illustrating renewable diesel fuel as a topiary pumpjack in a farm field.
Morales also had a hand in the September 2025 cover, executing the design overseen by art director Monica Sterchi-Lowman. Photographer Kerry Tasker used an aerial camera to capture an overhead view of the Arctic 10+ personal life raft being tested in Turnagain Arm. The murky waters off Beluga Point are tinted blue to enhance the contrast with the orange survival suit.
The Gold prize in the Front Cover, Photograph category went to an architectural image gracing the September 2025 cover of Datacenter Dynamics, showing a gray-scale worm’s-eye view of a faceted turret, namely the BT Tower in London. Datacenter Dynamics is one of five publications to earn four or more TABPI awards this year, including top honors for its b2b website.
