Need Alaska-made soaps and lotions to stock your bed and breakfast? There’s a platform for that.

BuyAlaska, the promotional arm of the Alaska Small Business Development Center, partnered with the Alaska Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) to launch the Business-to-Business (B2B) Exchange, an online platform designed to connect Alaska businesses through buying and selling wholesale products, machinery and equipment.

Keeping Money Local, Fostering Connection

“BuyAlaska is thrilled to launch this B2B Exchange in partnership with Alaska MEP,” says Katie Nave, program director at BuyAlaska. “This platform represents a significant step forward in fostering a thriving business-to-business environment in Alaska. By making it easier for Alaskan businesses to connect, source, and collaborate, we’re creating opportunities for growth and resilience within Alaska’s unique economy.”

The exchange includes wholesale product listings, which businesses can use to list and source products in bulk, connecting directly with local suppliers to reduce shipping times and costs. It also includes a machinery and equipment exchange, where businesses can list machinery and tools, allowing other businesses to scale up efficiently without having to source items from out-of-state providers. The platform also facilitates direct connections between Alaska business owners, promoting collaboration, and building a stronger business community.

Alaska MEP is dedicated to supporting manufacturers and businesses across Alaska by providing services that enhance growth, improve efficiency, and foster innovation. By collaborating with partners like BuyAlaska, Alaska MEP aims to create a robust local business ecosystem.

“The B2B Exchange is a game-changer for Alaskan business owners,” says Megan Militello, supply chain optimization manager at Alaska MEP. “It’s about empowering our local businesses to connect and collaborate directly, without relying on platforms like Facebook that lack a true business-to-business focus. This tool creates a space where Alaskans can build meaningful partnerships, strengthen local supply chains, and keep dollars circulating within our state. It’s more than a marketplace—it’s an investment in the future of Alaska’s economy.”

Alaska businesses interested in exploring the B2B Exchange can visit buyalaska.com/b2b to browse listings or create an account to list their products and equipment for sale. By using this platform, businesses are actively contributing to building a more self-sustaining and connected Alaska economy.
