The Peak Trust Company appointed Cheryl Evans to its Board of Directors, a compensated position with responsibility to uphold the estate planning firm’s mission in an oversight and governance capacity. With twenty years of experience in human resources, Evans serves as an integral member of the board’s Risk Committee.

“I couldn’t ask for a better fit than Peak Trust,” Evans says. “From the organization’s leadership to its core values, I’m thrilled to play even a small role in its continued success.”

Prior to making this move and retiring from the Municipality of Anchorage as Director of Human Resources, Evans held roles at the Alaska Railroad Corporation and State of Alaska. With roots in the HR world, Evans remained acutely aware that the decisions she made on a daily basis had the potential to impact people’s lives.

“Above all, it’s clear that Cheryl has a love for working with people and a desire to do the right thing in her dedication across hard-nosed businesses,” says Matthew Blattmachr, president and CEO of Peak Trust Company. “I’m proud to partner with a consummate professional who has been such a driving force throughout her local tenure in human resources. As Peak continues to grow and evolve, her expertise will be critical for our team’s long-term strategic initiatives.”

“What excites me most about joining Peak Trust is the company’s appetite for growth and investment in the next generation of this industry, both in Alaska and nationwide,” says Evans. “I look forward to navigating the opportunities as well as challenges that this work may bring from a human resource and organizational-design perspective.”
