Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) acquired a majority interest in Delta Solutions and Strategies, a Colorado-based defense contractor. Founded in 2000 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Delta deals in military training products, operations and maintenance, modeling and simulations, and professional and technical advisory and assistance services for the US Department of Defense.

Expanding Military Offerings

Delta joins UIC as part of the Bowhead Family of Companies within the UIC Government Services division. The acquisition is the largest to date for the Utqiaġvik-based village corporation. UIC Chief Operating Officer Jeevan Pokharel spearheaded the deal with the aim of enhancing and expanding Bowhead’s service offerings for the US Air Force, US Space Force, and US Space Command.

Delta’s integration provides Bowhead with new capabilities and service offerings that complement Bowhead’s existing offerings and position the company for increased success in securing government contracts.

“Delta Solutions & Strategies has built a reputation for exceptional service delivery and expertise in the defense and space arena,” says UIC Government Services/Bowhead President Mike Hundley. “Additionally, Delta’s ethical business practices align closely with the Iñupiat values that guide Bowhead’s business efforts, making our companies a great fit for this integration in terms of organizational culture and the pursuit of excellence. We are confident that this acquisition will significantly benefit Delta’s employees and customers and are excited about the opportunities ahead.”

The acquisition provides Delta Solutions & Strategies expanded market reach with access to a wider range of Department of Defense and federal contracts, enhanced expertise and service delivery, and access to funding and business resources to strengthen the company’s ability to compete.

“Bowhead is an ideal partner for Delta Solutions & Strategies,” says Delta President and CEO Mark Stafford. “Delta’s expertise and reputation in the space community, matched with Bowhead’s extensive service offerings and well-defined federal contracting practices, will allow us to unlock a new level of value for our organizations and customers.”

Delta Solutions & Strategies’ senior leadership team will remain in place, including Stafford, Chief Operating Officer Scott Anible, and Chief Financial Officer Debbie Leach.

Delta is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business with 400 employees and more than 180 subcontractors currently supporting forty-six federal contracts. The US Small Business Administration named it a Small Business Prime Contractor of the Year for 2023.

“On behalf of UIC’s executive management and our board of directors, I am pleased to welcome Delta to our UIC family” says Dr. Pearl K. Brower, UIC president and CEO. “This acquisition strengthens our ability to deliver cutting-edge solutions to the Department of Defense and other key government agencies. By leveraging Delta’s specialized expertise, we are positioned to offer an even broader range of services, helping our clients address the ever-evolving challenges in defense and national security.”
