GCI Continues Support for 61st Annual Beaver Round-Up
For everything from basketball and outhouse races to movie nights and cook-offs, hundreds of Southwest Alaska residents are gathering in Dillingham this week for the 61st Annual Beaver Round-Up.
One lucky winner at GCI’s Halftime Show Airplane Toss will receive an Apple Watch, courtesy of GCI, during the Old Timer’s Basketball Games on March 22.
“GCI is proud to support such a long-standing community tradition that brings people together from across Southwest Alaska,” said GCI Vice President of Corporate Communications Heather Handyside.
Beaver Round-Up kicks off March 20th and runs through March 24th.
This year the Alaska Railroad is celebrating 100 years of transportation people and cargo around Alaska. While the railroad is one of the states oldest transporters, it certainly isn’t the only one, and in this issue of Alaska Business we also check in on the Marine Highway, Span Alaska, and the White Pass & Yukon Route. For those interested in Southeast, our focus on that region provides updates on Kensington Mine, Tongass FCU, the troll fishery, and Juneau’s growing landfill.
