After moving from Dallas to Anchorage, Suzanna Smiles came across Set Up Shop, Anchorage Community Land Trust’s (ACLT) flagship program to help neighborhood entrepreneurs. Smiles had noticed a lack of groomers in Anchorage and wanted for years to set up her own shop. ACLT helped make that happen.
As it’s currently set up, training to be a contact tracer takes from twelve to sixteen hours and covers identifying and reaching out to potential cases, monitoring confirmed cases, investigation, and team supervision.
“We cannot be complacent. We need every business fully engaged in this effort. For the safety of our community’s employees, business owners, and customers, we have developed seven recommendations for bars and restaurants to reduce the risk of transmission.”
The new facility will double the hangar space and add 6,600 square feet of office space, allowing for additional aircraft as well as training rooms for ongoing medical training programs.
Approval for the sale of all twelve lots of Ravn Air Group assets was granted today at the final Bankruptcy Court hearing—including, in a last-minute turn of events, Ravn Air Group’s two Anchorage-based Part 121 passenger air carriers, RavnAir Alaska and PenAir.
The deadline for businesses to apply to the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) was extended to August 8. At the same time, the US Small Business Administration (SBA) released detailed data about loans made under the PPP.
