In addition to the main event, the race has also spawned trade and safety expos, ceremonial starts, halfway and final banquets, and other events that attract even more people to spend time and money on the sport.
State and Federal Funding Contribute to 2020 Construction
The good news is that the majority of construction projects that take place in the 49th State are financed by federal funds; the bad news is that the state’s general fund, which is used to provide matching money to move these projects forward, has been reduced.
Those Who Can Do Teach
Considering that many of the state’s students will stay in Alaska and work for local companies after graduation, it makes good business sense for these organizations to take part in the learning process.
Cooking Dirt
There’s no doubt that cleaning up Alaska’s contaminated soil is good for the environment. But perhaps what’s even more interesting is that the process, and the resulting recycled materials, lessen the effects of air and water pollution and contribute to a more pristine state.
