Two public relations firms in Anchorage are joining forces. MSI Communications and Mosaic Media announced their intent to form a strategic partnership, which they describe as the largest of its kind in Alaska.

Digital-Forward Agency

The two agencies will operate as sister companies under the ownership of Mosaic Collaborative in a Downtown Anchorage office. The partnership, anticipated to be finalized later this year, expands Mosaic’s history of supporting national brands while staying deeply connected to Alaska. It will also give local Alaska businesses access to sophisticated, national-level media strategies and fully integrated campaigns.

Mosaic Media is an Alaskan-owned media strategy and buying agency recognized for its expertise in media strategy, programmatic advertising, and data-driven campaigns.

“We’ve spent years honing our digital media skills on the national stage,” says Mosaic CEO and President Mary Ann Pruitt, who founded the agency in 2011. “Now, teaming up with Alaska’s renowned creative agency MSI, we can bring our expertise home to Alaska to address the rapidly evolving needs of the marketplace.”

Pruitt becomes the owner of Mosaic Collaborative, but both agencies will maintain separate business licenses and brand identities. The partnership stands out as the state’s first fully digital-forward creative agency, reflecting the industry’s evolution as digital media continues to outpace traditional channels and must be supported with breakthrough creative.

“For our team, it’s a tremendous opportunity,” adds MSI President Kris Miller. “They’ll work cohesively with a team of talented digital media specialists, giving us more depth and breadth in house, closer to the client, while better serving the Alaska communities that we care so deeply about.”

MSI brings three decades of experience as a full-service agency known for innovative, creative advertising and public relations service for some of the most recognized brands in Alaska. MSI has twenty-six full-time Alaskan employees, comparable to Mosaic’s nationwide staff, eight of whom are Alaska residents.

“It’s a perfect match of skills and culture. This ensures the agency, which is built on long-term relationships with the state’s leading industries, is poised for even greater success,” says MSI CEO Laurie Fagnani, who established her firm in 1995.

MSI Communications has grown into one of Alaska’s favorite advertising and creative businesses, serving clients in the tourism, oil and gas, mining, and transportation industries and Alaska Native corporations.

Fagnani plans to work through the transition and stay engaged with the team for the next year.

Alaska Native regional, village, and urban corporations operate in every industry all around the state, often in regions that don’t attract attention from other corporations. Our cover story for December 2025 is an excellent example, as it covers the investment Aleut is making in its region, Unangam Tanangin, or the Aleutian Islands, which stretch 1,000 miles into the Bering Sea and Pacific Ocean. The Alaska Native special section also visits Kodiak and the handful of corporations benefiting that region, and looks back over fifty years of ANCSA corporation history and how the corporations have built, maintained, and strengthened communications and relationships with their shareholders.
