New Midtown Farmers Market Coming to Anchorage

Mar 7, 2019 | Agriculture, Monitor

ANCHORAGE—Midtown Anchorage residents will have a new Farmers Market to look forward to this summer. The Anchorage Midtown Farmers Market will be held on Saturdays starting June 22, 2019 in the BP Alaska building parking lot.

“We are excited to bring fresh, locally grown and raised products to Midtown Anchorage,” said Arthur Keyes, founder of the South Anchorage Farmers Market. “This is a great area of town full of parks, trails, and local businesses, and we are excited about giving our friends and families access to some of the cleanest, healthiest Alaska Grown food they can find.”

BP Alaska is the primary sponsor of the new Anchorage Midtown Farmers Market which will be held in the west side of its business parking lot located off of Benson Blvd near the New Seward Highway.

“When this idea came our way, we jumped at the opportunity,” said BP Alaska President Janet Weiss. “We have a beautiful piece of property in the heart of Midtown Anchorage and it made perfect sense to share it with the rest of the community.”

Approximately 25 vendors are expected to sell their food and agricultural related products at the new market. The Anchorage Midtown Farmers Market will be held each Saturday, starting June 22 through October from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Interested vendors can apply to sell their products at the new market by visiting: www.anchoragemidtownfarmersmarket.com
