New Anchorage Facility Will Boost Economy, Strengthen Downtown Neighborhood

A significant investment is underway in Anchorage that will help reinvigorate a neighborhood and grow an economy that’s been devastated due to the pandemic. RSD Properties is opening a new facility in the heart of downtown that will bolster the business sector for both companies and employees.

The new building at 911 W. 8th Avenue offers opportunities for corporate, entrepreneurs, remote workers, freelancers, and independent professionals with a highly flexible and authentic workspace.
“As we work to recover from a recession and a pandemic, interest and investment in downtown Anchorage is more critical than ever,” says Bill Popp, Anchorage Economic Development Corporation president and CEO. “Coworking spaces play an important role in the local entrepreneurship ecosystem and provide remote workers from outside of Alaska a readymade way to join the community.”

The new four-story, state-of-the-art facility is leading the way in a commercial industry that’s drastically changing as businesses rethink their workplace footprints. Expedited by the pandemic, many companies are implementing reductions in office square footage. Coworking facilities are emerging as the popular choice for employees and employers.
cowork by RSD’s collaborative environment is built to include proper precautions to eliminate a vast majority of COVID-19 risks. The facility has an American Ultraviolet germicidal air duct system to ensure air flow will never be recycled into the rooms and any air produced will be sanitized, killing 99 percent of bacteria, mold, and viruses. This air handling system will reduce the risk of cold, flu, allergies, and other illness associated with air flow in office buildings.

A grand opening is scheduled for 4-7 p.m. tomorrow at the RSD Building, located at 911 W. 8th Avenue in Anchorage. The community is encouraged to take a tour of the facility to see first-hand how office space is changing to meet the needs of today’s workers and the future of office work.
