Alaska Tribal Justice Resource Center Website Launches

Mar 31, 2021 | Alaska Native, News, Professional Services

The Rural Alaska Community Action Program (RurAL CAP) is thrilled to announce the launch of the Alaska Tribal Justice Resource Center (ATJRC) website.

RurAL CAP created the new ATJRC website in order to promote tribal self-governance, inter-community collaboration, and Alaska sustainability.

The website provides resources focused on a variety of emerging justice trends: tribal public safety and law enforcement, tribal courts and restorative justice, and community reintegration programs for citizens returning from incarceration.

Additionally, tribes and tribal organizations can access online training and technical assistance dedicated to the enhancement of tribal justice systems across the state. In short, the website makes information regarding the program more accessible and supplies tribal courts with more direct support.

“The need for increased tribal justice training and assistance in Alaska continues to grow. Many partners, tribal leaders, and judges have fought hard to make the ATJRC program and website a reality,” says Patrick M. Anderson, CEO of RurAL CAP.

Operating in partnership with a number of individuals and organizations, ATJRC delivers effective, culturally-informed, and Alaska-specific resources and assistance to tribes.

The ATJRC website has been made possible by a grant from the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance.
