A reorganization within the Saltchuk family of transport companies extends the reach of the Carlile Transportation freight network into Hawai’i for the first time. As of January 1, Carlile is absorbing the functions of sister company Naniq Global Logistics, a provider of outsourced logistics and transportation management services. Both companies are combining activities under the Carlile brand.

The integrated operation includes warehousing in Kapolei, Hawai’i, and four air gateway locations across Oahu, Kauai, and the Big Island, providing reliable supply chain solutions to customers in this region.

“We have so much energy and excitement now, building on over forty years of performance, optimizing our operations and growing our capabilities across Alaska, Hawai’i, and the Lower 48,” says Krista Williams, who continues to lead the combined organization as president and CEO of Carlile.

The new organization structure includes operations under four primary business verticals: air gateway services, freight management, specialized trucking, and MyConnect, Carlile’s package-forwarding solution for consumers and small businesses in Alaska. Service offerings include full truckload, less than truckload, freight forwarding, warehousing, heavy-haul trucking, and more.

On December 3, the company introduced intra-state MyConnect shipping, enabling customers to ship packages terminal-to-terminal statewide.

“We are strengthening Carlile like never before: we’ve invested in heavy-haul trucking, we’re growing MyConnect, and it’s only the start,” Williams says. “We have plans to take MyConnect to Hawai’i. The Kapolei warehouse will become a Carlile terminal. There’s so much to come, and our customers can expect enhanced service and value at all levels.”

The combined Carlile organization now employs around 870 employees, with 260 in Hawai’i and 480 in Alaska.

“We are excited for what the future holds as this new organization comes together and can’t wait to get started on January 1,” Williams adds.

Naniq Global Logistics had been a business line of Seattle-based logistics conglomerate Saltchuk, along with Carlile, TOTE Maritime, Cook Inlet Tug & Barge, Northern Air Cargo, and Ryan Air, among others.
