Renovations Complete at Two Midtown Hotels
A covered entrance, or porte cochere, has been added to the Hampton Inn in Midtown Anchorage as part of a multi-million-dollar renovation.
Renovations are complete at two buildings along Hotel Row in Midtown Anchorage. The Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton, both owned by Kentucky-based Columbia Sussex, have been given fresh décor and upgraded amenities.
Casual and Confident
Columbia Sussex, which also owns and manages the Marriott Anchorage Downtown and Hilton Anchorage Downtown, invested in multi-million-dollar renovations for its two extended stay properties, adding new guest rooms and meeting space. The renovations also updated the lobbies and public spaces, dining areas, and fitness centers.
The Hampton Inn, at C Street and Tudor Road, has a new exterior to match the brand’s redesign. Parent brand Hilton created a Casual Design option for guest rooms and a Confident Design scheme for public spaces.
The exterior façade has a fin design and paint scheme, enlarged windows, enhanced lighting, and a porte cochere for unloading vehicles. Public spaces include a revamped lodge-inspired lobby and front desk area. The inn’s 101 guest rooms are redesigned with warm color palettes, new bedding, wall-mounted TVs, and space-saving storage units. Bathrooms each have enhanced lighting and fixtures.
Across the Tudor and C Street intersection, at 48th Avenue and A Street, the public spaces at Homewood Suites Anchorage were completely reimagined for a more home-like atmosphere. The lobby was completely redone with new modern finishes and furniture. All corridors were outfitted with new carpeting, wall covering, and lighting fixtures. In the 125 guest rooms, suites were entirely refitted with new dining room chairs, sofa beds, and lounge chairs.
Homewood Suites Anchorage offers studio rooms and one- and two-bedroom suites, which include fully equipped kitchens. The hotel also offers a fitness center with Peloton bikes and an indoor pool with hot tub. Three meeting rooms can be catered for groups up to eighty people reception style.
Trademark Beds
Marilyn Tilo welcomes guests at Homewood Suites by Hilton, where the lobby has been redecorated to include more wood textures and taxidermy.
At both hotels, living and sleeping areas were relit to enhance the new bedroom accent walls and artwork. All rooms feature “The Bed by Hilton,” a trademark set of plush pillows, down comforter, and top mattress.
