To lead its new Alaska endeavors, Hawai’i-based commercial furniture and storage dealership Systemcenter promoted Aukai Allen as Alaska Market General Manager. In that position, Allen oversees operations across Alaska’s commercial, military, federal, state, and local government markets by setting strategic priorities, fostering community relationships, and developing the brand statewide.

Originally from Honolulu, Allen’s journey with Systemcenter began at an early age, learning the family business under the guidance of President Stephan Edwards. He later honed his skills as a project manager supporting Systemcenter’s North America operations, playing a key role in establishing the Anchorage showroom—an experience that inspired his decision to make Alaska his home.

“When I first visited Alaska to support our showroom installation, I knew instantly I wanted to call this incredible place home,” says Allen. “I’m honored to step into this leadership role and am excited to strengthen our team, foster relationships, and support the growth of the corporate environment and interior design space here in Alaska. I also look forward to contributing to Alaska’s vibrant communities while helping create inspiring workspaces that truly make an impact.”

As Alaska Market General Manager, Allen aims to develop business opportunities, strengthen relationships, and deepen ties within the community. Systemcenter’s recent expansion, highlighted by the grand opening of its Anchorage showroom, underscores its dedication to serving diverse markets across Alaska and beyond. Long term, Allen envisions building a life rooted in family, community, and professional success in Alaska.

“Aukai’s promotion is a testament to his exceptional character and commitment to our mission of creating inspiring environments,” says Edwards. “As a leader, he raises the bar for all of us, fostering teamwork and investing in the professional and personal growth of those around him. Our Alaska dealership couldn’t be in better hands.”

Alaska Native regional, village, and urban corporations operate in every industry all around the state, often in regions that don’t attract attention from other corporations. Our cover story for December 2025 is an excellent example, as it covers the investment Aleut is making in its region, Unangam Tanangin, or the Aleutian Islands, which stretch 1,000 miles into the Bering Sea and Pacific Ocean. The Alaska Native special section also visits Kodiak and the handful of corporations benefiting that region, and looks back over fifty years of ANCSA corporation history and how the corporations have built, maintained, and strengthened communications and relationships with their shareholders.
