Anchorage-based hose, belt, and rigging supplier ARG Industrial promoted Gordy Burks to Director of Sales. Burks has been taking on increasing leadership responsibilities over the past three years, most recently serving as Regional Sales Manager.

With twenty-four years of experience in industrial distribution and sales leadership, Burks is credited with a passion for service, attention to detail, and business-minded approach to sales that have developed teams, built customer relationships, and grown the business. Since joining ARG, Burks has worked closely with branches, sales teams, customers, and vendor partners throughout Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve our people in this new role,” says Burks. “We have an amazing team at ARG, and I’m excited about what we’re building together. My goal is to help our people succeed, strengthen the relationships that have made ARG successful, and continue raising the bar for how we serve our customers and grow our company.”

The company began in 1980 as Alaska Rubber & Rigging Supply, Inc. and became Alaska Rubber Group in 2006 when it transitioned to employee ownership. It first doubled in size in 2009 by adding a Wasilla branch and acquiring Alaska Rubber & Rigging in Fairbanks and further consolidated with Alaska Rubber & Rigging Inc. and Arctic Wire Rope & Supply.
