Joining the family business, Lauren Hendrix is now Director of Marketing for the HEX, LLC family of companies. After seven years at ASRC Energy Services, spearheading a rebranding as Director of Marketing and Proposals, Hendrix is taking a role at Cook Inlet’s only Alaskan-owned natural gas producer, led by her father, CEO and President John Hendrix.

In her new position, Hendrix works with Chief Commercial Officer Mark Slaughter on strategy, gas contracting, permitting, and communications for HEX Cook Inlet, Furie Operating Alaska, Cornucopia, and Corsair. This is a return to the natural gas business; Hendrix previously worked on the communications team for the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation.

Hendrix earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from The University of Mississippi and a master’s degree in corporate public relations from Boston University. She also holds professional certificates in finance, drilling, and gas handling. She previously worked for MSI Communications, Brilliant Media Strategies, and NANA Management Services.

Hendrix enjoys cross-country skiing, walking Anchorage trails, designing, and painting. Her newborn daughter is also the namesake of a Cook Inlet platform: after a successful drilling campaign this summer, the company rechristened the Julius R monopod in the Kitchen Lights Unit “Allegra Leigh.”

In our first issue of 2026, we are again featuring two special sections: Junior Achievement of Alaska and Industry Support.

We’re honored again this year to celebrate our partnership with Junior Achievement of Alaska, a nonprofit that educates local youth about enterprise, business, money, and financial literacy. In the special section, three Junior Achievement of Alaska students weigh in on their experience with the exceptional volunteers and teachers involved with the program.

And in Industry Support, we explore the range of varied services that industry in Alaska requires, from mancamps to spill response to off-grid energy solutions.

Outside the special sections, make sure to check out the 2026 Economic forecast, where Alaska leaders share their insights on what may lie ahead in the coming year. Enjoy!
