Morrow Duszynski comes aboard as Communications Manager. Born and raised in Fairbanks, Duszynski has more than three years of experience in higher education at UAF, where she began her career in human resources before pivoting to communications. Her passion for social media and content creation began during her undergraduate studies at UAF, when she worked as a barista at a local cafe and curated its online presence. After graduating from UAF with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, she followed her dream of living abroad and taught English in Uijeongbu, South Korea, for two years. Duszynski returned to Alaska in 2022, where she began her professional journey at UAF and deepened her roots in her hometown. Morrow earned an MBA from UAF and is excited to get to know the business community of Anchorage. When she is out of the office, Morrow enjoys singing, crocheting, traveling, and being outside.

New Oil on the North Slope
August 2026
In mid-May it was 19°F and windy at the Aurora Hotel in Deadhorse. As I stood in the parking lot surveying the surroundings, I chatted with a gentleman from Texas who works for Nabors Alaska Drilling and was in town as part of a crew tasked with getting a previously inactive drill rig up and running. He said that, according to his supervisor, spring is the windy season on the North Slope. The gusts were bracing, numbing the fingers holding my camera, but most of my attention was focused on what I could capture through the lens: work trucks, shipping containers, buildings obscured by snow whipped up by the wind.
