Another healthcare leader from Texas joins the Alaska Regional Hospital executive team. Candi Stanley is the new Chief Nursing Officer, arriving from Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, where she was Assistant Chief Nursing Officer.
In the last year, since parent company HCA Healthcare named Mark Roberts as CEO, Roberts has brought in several colleagues from his previous position at Corpus Christi Medical Center, about a two-hour drive to the Gulf Coast from San Antonio.
Stanley is a registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Texas Tech University and a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Phoenix. She is commissioned as a major in the US Army Reserves.
Stanley’s areas of expertise include leading large multidisciplinary teams while strengthening operational performance and advancing patient experience and colleague engagement. She has spearheaded initiatives that reduced turnover and vacancy rates among registered nurses, improved patient satisfaction scores, and significantly expanded new graduate nurse recruitment.
Stanley succeeds Laura Magstadt, who was promoted to Chief Nursing Officer last year upon Roberts’ arrival as CEO.
