Alaska Division of Facility Services Promotes Director
Kaitlin Williams | Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities
To lead the “facilities” part of the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF), Daniel “Danny” Gibson received a promotion to Director of the Division of Facility Services (DFS).
Gibson most recently served as operations manager for DFS. The division covers operations, maintenance, construction, design, and leasing for 1,800 State of Alaska facilities. As director, Gibson oversees a staff of more than 150 personnel of various disciplines and specialties in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau.
“While we often take the heat, light, and water systems for granted, it’s actually a challenge to keep 1,800 facilities going in Alaska’s harsh environments. Our success is due to the hardworking team of professionals at DFS,” Gibson says. “I look forward to continue to work with the team to modernize our facilities, extend the life of our buildings and continue to serve Alaskans.”
Gibson attended UAF and lives in Fairbanks with his wife and three children.
