Northrim Bank announced the opening of its newest branch, the Homer Financial Center, on March 18. The lobby of the bank, located at 601 E. Pioneer Avenue, Suite 211, will be open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.

Homer Branch Marks a Milestone

“We are happy to continue our growth throughout Alaska with our twentieth branch. We joined the Homer community last year with our Loan Production office and we are eager to meet the needs of the community through our new full-service branch,” says Northrim Bank President Mike Huston. “The bank is also honored to announce a contribution to the Homer Community Food Pantry. We believe in supporting our neighbors in need and are fortunate enough to be able to help with a contribution to help the community’s most vulnerable.”

The Homer Financial Center will be led by two longtime Kenai Peninsula residents. Jennifer McLay, with more than thirty years of experience in the financial industry, joined Northrim in 2023 as Lending Branch Manager in Homer. Assistant Branch Manager Jake Dragseth started at Northrim in 2020 and has seven years of experience in the financial industry.

In partnership with the Homer Chamber of Commerce, Northrim is holding a ribbon-cutting event from 11 am to 1 pm on March 25. Attendees can tour the new branch, meet the Northrim team, and network with fellow Homer business associates.

Alaska Native regional, village, and urban corporations operate in every industry all around the state, often in regions that don’t attract attention from other corporations. Our cover story for December 2025 is an excellent example, as it covers the investment Aleut is making in its region, Unangam Tanangin, or the Aleutian Islands, which stretch 1,000 miles into the Bering Sea and Pacific Ocean. The Alaska Native special section also visits Kodiak and the handful of corporations benefiting that region, and looks back over fifty years of ANCSA corporation history and how the corporations have built, maintained, and strengthened communications and relationships with their shareholders.
