Internal Promotions at McKinley Management

Two subsidiaries of McKinley Management promoted new directors.

Katie Berry

McKinley Research Group named Katie Berry as its Director of Economics and Research. Along with her team, Berry provides consulting services to clients that include the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation, Alaska Native Heritage Center, and Southwest Alaska Municipal Conference. As the firm’s intern program supervisor, she also coordinates with and mentors the future leaders of the industry. Berry has been with the firm (formerly McDowell Group) for five years.

“Katie’s wide array of consulting experiences help McKinley Research generate information and value for our clients,” says McKinley Research Group President Susan Bell. “I look forward to working alongside Katie as our firm continues to grow and evolve.”

Berry holds a master’s degree in economics and finance from the University of Wyoming. She was raised in Anchorage and returned to the state after working with Union Pacific Railroad. She is especially interested in issues that affect Alaska, such as transportation, infrastructure, public health, tourism, and natural resources.

Martino Boffa

McKinley Capital Management made Martino Boffa its Director of Sustainability, Portfolio Manager. In the new role, Boffa provides education, leads implementation, and oversees the firm’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) offerings while continuing his portfolio management responsibilities on the investment team.

“I am delighted to have Martino take on this new role at McKinley to formalize our firm’s commitment to sustainability,” says Rob Gillam, CEO and chief investment officer at McKinley Management. “With Martino’s leadership, our clients will see us developing and adding specific ESG capabilities to our investment and research process. This is important to our clients, our staff, and our business.”

Boffa holds a CFA UK Level 4 Certificate in ESG and is passionate about the opportunities available for clients to incorporate their values into their investment portfolio. Boffa joined McKinley Capital in 2009 as director of alternative investments, portfolio manager. He has almost thirty years of investment industry experience. Prior to McKinley, Boffa worked as the senior director of arbitrage strategies with Credit Suisse and managed a market neutral investment portfolio. Prior to that, he worked at Société Générale where he was managing director of hedge fund sales specializing in European equities.
