Republic Services of Alaska has a new General Manager. Matt Melton, a seasoned executive and operational strategist, oversees Republic Services’ Environmental Solutions business in the state, which includes emergency response personnel, service centers, and hazardous waste facilities.
Melton has more than two decades of leadership experience across environmental services, emergency management, and strategic business operations in both the public and private sectors. He has led critical initiatives in the marine transportation and oil and gas industries, credited with securing long-term contracts, strengthening response capabilities, and delivering measurable results.
“The work we do is essential to keeping Alaska’s communities clean and safe, and it’s an honor to join a team with such a strong reputation for safety, service, and environmental stewardship,” says Melton. “I look forward to being part of the solution to the unique environmental challenges in our region.”
Melton holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and a master’s degree in operational management, both from New England College in New Hampshire. He has held leadership positions on the Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council, the Association of Petroleum Industry Cooperative Managers, and the Alaska Support Industry Alliance.
