Nick Parker joined R&M’s Land Surveying Group as a Staff Surveyor. He has spent the last four summers as a geomatics intern with the firm, returning full-time after earning a bachelor’s degree in Geomatics from UAA.
“I came back to R&M because, even after applying at various other firms and agencies over the years, R&M is still the most competitive employer and best work environment I’ve encountered,” says Parker. “I enjoy the variety of places I travel to for work. I regularly see places in Alaska that I would never go to otherwise.”
Parker has provided field surveying for airport, highway, trail, and subdivision projects across the state, excelling in hands-on field work. He is a Land Surveyor-in-Training and an FAA Part 107 Certified Remote Pilot. He is an avid outdoorsperson who enjoys backcountry splitboarding, mountain biking, paddleboarding, packrafting, and kayaking.
Lindsey Sutherland joined the Fairbanks office as an Environmental Specialist in the Environmental Services Group. She brings three years of experience specializing in National Environmental Policy Act compliance and documentation, having supported those processes for agencies such as the US Bureau of Land Management, US Forest Service, and US Department of Defense.

“I was excited for the opportunity to join the R&M team because it’s an Alaskan-based organization that does unique and impactful environmental work across the great state,” Sutherland says. “Alaska can be a harsh place to conduct environmental services, but R&M’s history and cumulative experience as a team provides a wealth of knowledge to navigate the challenges of tough Alaskan field work and environmental research.”
Sutherland holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from Clemson University and earned a master’s degree in geology from Idaho State University. She is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in the National Environmental Policy Act from Utah State University. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking the Goldstream trails with her pup Yogi, exploring plant identification, and practicing watercolor art.
Adam Dalton joined R&M as a Staff Engineer in the firm’s Water Resources Group. He has five years of experience in water resources and civil infrastructure projects, including aquatic organism passage design, site drainage, grading, road and bridge projects, and wetland mitigation. Dalton’s background includes hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, dam safety, and drainage studies, using tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, and EPA SWMM.

“The more I learned about R&M, the more confident I became in its potential to be a long-term fit and a home for mastering the craft of engineering,” Dalton says. “More than anything, though, it’s the people here that make this the place to be.”
Dalton holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Utah. Outside of work, he enjoys alpine skiing, biking, camping, cooking, fishing, gardening, and working on home improvement projects like finishing his basement and yard.
