R&M Consultants

Carina Perez recently joined R&M Consultants as an Engineering Associate in the firm’s Construction Services Department.

In this role, Perez provides office engineering on a variety of Alaska infrastructure construction projects, assuring construction work is completed in accordance with plans, specifications, and established procedures.

Perez has seventeen years of construction experience in Alaska, the last fifteen as an office engineer for the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region. Perez provided technical support and coordination on state construction projects, including cost control and estimating, documentation and recordkeeping, review of construction drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with regulations and permits. She is also experienced in construction inspections, such as pipe installation, paving, guardrail, curb and gutter, accessibility compliance, and stormwater pollution prevention plans. Perez previously served as the assistant erosion and sediment control advisor for DOT&PF.

“We are excited to have Carina join the R&M family!” says Greg Shearer, R&M’s Group Manager of Construction Administration. “The experience, knowledge, and industry relationships she has built over the last fifteen years working in the Construction Section of DOT&PF are invaluable and will be a benefit to R&M’s continued commitment to delivering quality work to our clients and Alaska.”

When she’s not at work, Perez enjoys farmers markets and live music with friends and family. She also loves to travel and spends a lot of time on her boat in Homer.
