KPB Architects Promotes Associate Principal

KPB Architects promoted Ryann Swalling, a member of the team for almost twenty years, to Associate Principal.
“Ryann’s promotion to Associate Principal is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and the significant contributions she has made to our firm,” says Mike Prozeralik, president and managing principal at KPB Architects. “Her leadership and vision have been invaluable, and we look forward to her continued success in this new role.”
Swalling started her career as an architectural intern and rose through the ranks. Through her tenure at KPB, Swalling has worked on the Linny Pacillo Parking Garage, the Loussac Place redevelopment with Cook Inlet Housing Authority, and the Patient Housing facility for Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, and she served as project architect on seven of the twenty-five pieces of the F-35 Beddown at Eielson Air Force Base.

Over the years, Swalling has taken on increasingly complex projects and responsibilities, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients. Prozeralik says, “I am really excited to see Ryann grow as a leader and look forward to mentoring her to take my place as our Department of Defense champion.”
Swalling holds a professional certification from the American Institute of Architects and is certified LEED AP for building design and construction and a certified healthcare interior designer. The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce named her Young Professional of the Year for 2018, and she was the founding vice-chair of the chamber’s Young Professionals Group.
“I returned to Anchorage after earning my architecture degree with the desire to continue my family’s history in Alaska’s construction industry and to enhance our built environment for residents and visitors alike. I chose KPB Architects as the best firm to set me up to achieve that dream. Since then, KPB has given me amazing opportunities to grow professionally and personally by working with a wide variety of clients and project types across the state and by supporting my volunteer efforts within our community,” says Swalling. “The strong teamwork and partnerships that I’ve experienced have led to significant success across the board. I’ve had outstanding mentors at KPB who helped guide my career path in a successful direction. I look forward to continuing KPB’s excellence in design and client services, supportive leadership, and mentorship in my new role.”
