Regional Affairs Hires, Strategic Promotion at The Aleut Corporation

The Aleut Corporation added two new professionals to its Regional Affairs department, aligning with the corporation’s mission to create and develop opportunities for its shareholders. The Alaska Native corporation for the Unangax̂ region also promoted a Director of Growth and Strategy.

Theresa Cross

Theresa Cross joins Aleut as Senior Director of Regional Operations. In this role, Cross partners with the Vice President of Regional Affairs to oversee the Grants, Lands, and Shareholders Records departments to foster departmental growth and regional development.

Most recently working for the State of Alaska as director of the Support Services Division, Cross brings a proven track record in leadership and operational excellence to Aleut. She has been nominated four times for the State of Alaska Denali Peak Award for leadership, exceptional customer service, innovative cost savings, and exceptional performance.

Ethan Tyler

Ethan Tyler joins Aleut as Director of Government Affairs. In this role, Tyler is responsible for developing legislative strategies, public messaging, and building relationships with government entities and private partners. Tyler performed a similar role in his most recent position at Cook Inlet Region, Inc., and before that he was director of Alaska State Parks and Outdoor Recreation. Aleut expects that Tyler’s strategic thinking and passion for the Alaska Native corporation model will ensure that the corporation’s interests and those of its shareholders are well represented.

Bethany Monfore

In addition to the new appointments, Aleut promoted Bethany Monfore to Director of Growth and Strategy. Reporting to COO Mandy Hawes, Monfore leads Aleut’s growth initiatives, focusing on fostering collaboration and maximizing opportunities across subsidiaries. She is responsible for driving Aleut’s corporate acquisition and integration strategy and consolidating and monitoring subsidiary growth metrics. Monfore originally joined Aleut in 2020, and her experience includes serving as Growth & Strategy Manager and Small Business & 8(a) Compliance Manager. Her dedication and expertise continue to support Aleut’s strategy of disciplined, balanced growth.
