The board of Chugach Alaska Corporation appointed Katherine Carlton to Interim President. Carlton most recently she served as Chugach’s Vice President of ANCSA and Community Affairs. She takes over for Peter Andersen, who steps down as Interim President while continuing to serve as Chugach’s Chief Operating Officer.

Carlton, a Chugach shareholder, had been responsible for stewardship of the regional corporation’s lands and cultural resources, and that continues in her new role. She also continues to serve as President of the recently established Chugach Regional Development and the newly formed nonprofit Chugach Tribal Services.
