Aleut regional corporation promoted two leaders to strengthen coordination across key areas of the organization, supporting growth while enhancing services, operations, and engagement with shareholders. By aligning leadership responsibilities with strategic needs, Aleut is increasing its ability to serve shareholders, support its businesses, and create long-term value across the Aleutian Islands region and beyond.

Ethan Tyler becomes VP of Public Policy and Shareholder Engagement. His previous title was VP, Public Policy and Lands; the expanded responsibilities reflect a natural connection between shareholder priorities, public policy advocacy, and stewardship of Aleut’s lands and resources, creating a more coordinated approach.

Tyler holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Colorado Mesa University, and he earned a graduate certificate in the Alaska Native Executive Leadership Program from Alaska Pacific University. He has worked in the nonprofit sector, led the Alaska Division of State Parks and Outdoor Recreation, spent several years at Cook Inlet Region, Inc., and joined Aleut in 2024 as Director of Government Affairs.

Tyler is credited with advancing Aleut’s policy priorities, strengthening regional partnerships, and elevating issues important to the Aleut region. His work has advanced efforts related to Adak redevelopment, the King Cove Road project, regional energy development, and other initiatives that support long-term economic opportunity and community well-being.

“Aleut’s mission has always been what motivates me,” Tyler says. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our communities and supporting the long-term strength of our region.”

Theresa Cross is promoted to Vice President of Operations and Support Services to lead performance across four of Aleut’s Alaska-based subsidiaries while continuing oversight of key internal functions, including administration and IT services.

Cross studied business administration and management at UAA and worked for the State of Alaska for nearly sixteen years, rising through the Department of Natural Resources to lead the Support Services Division. She joined Aleut in 2024 as Senior Director of Shareholder Services and Administration.

Cross is credited with improving efficiency, accountability, and collaboration across the organization. Her leadership helped modernize key systems, including the transition of Aleut’s Shareholder Information System, streamline critical processes, and build organizational continuity through intentional team development and succession planning. Her ability to align people, processes, and systems with business goals has positioned Aleut for continued success, and this expanded leadership role is a natural next step.

“At the core of my leadership philosophy is a simple belief: when people are given clarity, the right tools, and trust, they will exceed expectations—including their own,” says Cross. “What excites me most about this role is the opportunity to bring strategy, operations, and support services together in a way that helps people succeed, strengthens the corporation, and prepares Aleut for the future.”
