During the first weekend in May, Alaskans gather to celebrate aviation and plan for the upcoming flying season. The state’s largest aviation event attracts more than 20,000 attendees and more than 200 exhibitors each year. The event commemorates Alaska’s vital aviation presence and the unique role aviation plays in the state. Whether a seasoned aviator, an aspiring pilot, or simply captivated by flight, the event offers a lineup of exhibits, aircraft displays, educational seminars, networking opportunities, and numerous activities for children. Airplane activities and demonstrations will happen throughout the weekend, with a free concert by Jerry Wessling from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hoskin Hall at the Alaska State Fairgrounds.
