The Japanese Summer Festival highlights Japanese culture, food, and traditions. This family-friendly event offers a chance to sample authentic Japanese food, find treasures at the flea market, and visit vendor booths. Attendees can also watch performances by the Anchorage-based, all-volunteer Japanese drumming group Tomodachi Daiko, and Radio Taiso (radio-broadcast stretching activities), as well as demonstrations of Japanese folk dance, Japanese street dance, Iaido (Japanese martial art involving drawing a katana), and a live Sumi-e, or Japanese ink-wash art performance.
