Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson will celebrate the return of Arctic Thunder Open House August 8 – 9. This event is free to the public and showcases two full days of world-class aerial acrobatics and military demonstrations featuring the Blue Angels US Navy Demonstration Team and the Golden Knights US Army Parachute Team.

In previous years, the event has seen attendance of more than 250,000 people. This year’s event will include dozens of static displays spanning 30 acres, containing inventory from around the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as international partners.

The event offers an unforgettable, up-close, and personal experience with aircraft, equipment, and the outstanding men and women who wear the uniform. The event is the base’s way of saying thank you to friends and neighbors from across Alaska for the support provided to military members and their families.
