Recognizing that strong technology is essential to reaching Alaskans wherever they live, work, and bank, Credit Union 1 (CU1) hired Susannah Scholl as Chief Information Officer. In this role, Scholl leads CU1’s information technology strategy and operations, with a focus on secure, reliable technology that complements CU1’s physical presence and keeps members connected to financial services across Alaska.

Scholl brings extensive experience in technology and leadership to CU1, including a long tenure with GCI. Her background includes leading technology teams and supporting complex organizations through changing technology needs.

“I’m excited to bring my experience to an organization so deeply connected to Alaska,” Scholl says. “Technology is at its best when it makes things simpler, more accessible and more dependable for people. I look forward to working alongside the CU1 team to continue delivering that experience for members across the state.”

Scholl has called Alaska home since 2015, continuing a family connection that dates back to territorial days in the early 20th century.

CU1 President and CEO Mark Burgess says, “Susannah brings deep technology experience and a strong understanding of Alaska. Her leadership will help us continue making thoughtful technology decisions centered on the people and communities we serve.”
