Northrim Bank Receives National Certification for Safe, Affordable Account

Northrim Bank recently received national certification for a new checking account, Easy Banking, aimed at providing a safe, affordable banking option for those who lack adequate access to traditional financial services.
Boosting Banking Accessibility
The bank’s Easy Banking option was certified by the Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund as meeting Bank On National Account Standards for safe and affordable transaction accounts. Northrim is the first Alaska-based financial institution to receive the certification.
The goal of the account is to ensure everyone has access to safe and affordable financial products and services. Bank On National Account Standards identify twenty-five critical product features for appropriate bank or credit union accounts, aimed at making it easier to connect consumers to accounts that meet their needs.

Key features include the ability to pay bills and make purchases, federal deposit insurance, no minimum balance, and no overdraft or nonsufficient fund fees. Easy Banking accounts are available in all of Northrim’s nineteen branches across Alaska.
